Thanks for your reply, but DHEC is the appropriate state agency to which the question should be asked, as they should be monitoring these two forms of pollution and should be able to inform you where the most impacted areas are.


So, given the fact that these two forms of pollution, generated by cars and truck, adversely impact human health and are also the same sources which cause Climate Change, please confirm you will ask DHEC for information.

Given the extensive highway presence in the region, is Sustainable Midlands, monitoring both the levels of PM 2.5 and ”Tire Wear Powder”being emitted and their potential environmental and health impacts?

Hi, James! Thanks for asking this question. Unfortunately we do not have the capacity to measure these emissions, but I think this is a perfect question for the SC Energy Office (energy.sc.gov).
