Homegrown Tomato Contest!
Are you growing your own tomatoes? Be recognized for supporting local food and being a successful home gardener! Entries will be collected at the All Local Farmers’ Market at 711 Whaley Street Columbia, SC 29201 from 8AM till noon on Saturday, July 9th. The tomatoes will be judged that afternoon and the results sealed until the festival on Sunday, July 17th! You can enter multiple categories. To qualify for a category bring enough for 5 judges to taste for each entry.
All participating gardeners will be recognized at the festival and on the website! Email us a picture of your garden today!
Contest Categories are:
Best Big Red
Best Big Yellow
Best Unusual Tomato (striped, purple, etc)
Best Small
Best School/Community Garden
All varieties of homegrown tomatoes are eligible! Bring enough of each entry for 5 judges to sample. Put each entry into a brown bag with your name , contact info, the variety name and the contest category. Questions, send an email to ryan@sustainablemidlands.org
