Coal ash is a dangerous mixture of arsenic, lead, mercury and many other poisons. When improperly disposed of it contaminates drinking water supplies, surface waters and communities. Richland County proposes ballot amendment to fund road/transit/greenways

County Council unanimously approved the CMRTA’s proposed improvements and adjustments to the transit system, effective July 12, 2010.

Public Comments Due by 3/19th re Arsenic in Wateree River

Public Comment will be accepted on arsenic levels  from the coal plant in Lower Richland.  The same plant that DHEC recently permitted a 17 story high coal ash waste storage facility.  The same location that recently had a leak from one of it’s unlined storage ponds.

Action Alert Letter Campaign RT601 Bridge

Support the Congaree Land Trust in urging the SC DOT to build a better bridge, not just replace the existing bridge through our National Park.

No plans have been made for park visitor access and visitor safety.
